Eight PrincipLes

THE EIGHT PRINCIPLES OF THE MODIFIED TAE KWON DO SYSTEM.

Modesty

Be a graceful winner and loser.  Remember, no matter how big and bad you are, someone bigger and badder is always waiting right around the corner

Obedience

Respectfully obey your parents, elders, instructors and senior rankers.

Discipline

Maintain good behavior at all times.  Also discipline yourself to come to class when you don’t feel like it and keep going when you want to quit.

Intelligence

Use what you’ve got wisely.

Finesse

Refine your martial arts and know when and when not to use them.

Integrity

Remain true to the tradition of the martial arts. Also always try to do the right thing in life, even though it is not always the easiest route.

Etiquette

Adhere to the rules of the school and instructors.

Devotion

Devote yourself and your life to God, your family and the betterment of yourself, which does include Martial arts. You will only get out of these things what you put into them.
